Apotheosis Comics & Lounge: Along with stocking thousands of comic books and graphic novels, the shop features a bar that offers coffee, local beers, wine and snacks. It hosts many events, including a kids’ reading group every Saturday morning.

parks 
Tower Grove Park: Extending 1.6 miles, this Victorian-era walking park includes 32 pavilions, the Piper Palm House (the oldest greenhouse west of the Mississippi!), a bandstand, wading pool, softball diamonds, tennis courts, soccer fields, and walking paths. The park also features several statues from the 1800s, including likenesses of William Shakespeare and Mozart.
Ritz Park: Named after the theater that once was there, the space hosts events throughout the year, including film screenings, concerts, plays and lectures.

notable landmarks
Compton Hill Water Tower: The tower was built in 1897 and stands 179 feet high. It almost was demolished in the 1990s, but the neighborhood instead forced a $19 million restoration project. It’s open for tours and hosts Full Moon Openings for the chance to view the city from the top at night.
Stray Dog Theatre: Housed in Tower Grove Abbey, a century-old church, the company presents a collaborative theatrical experience.

The region’s largest multicultural celebration features food, performances and an international bazaar.
