The original home on Radnor Road in Huntleigh sits atop a hill, a spot that befits this 10,000-square-footplus mansion on 3 private acres. Attractive features like the lush, landscaped grounds, saltwater pool, infrared sauna room and imported English wet bar only add to its appeal.
“You don’t hear anything in the backyard, let alone see anything,” says Stephanie Bahn. She moved into the house, which is owned by her fiance, Ken Poteet, in 2013. The original structure was designed in 1939 and expanded by 7,000 square feet in 2005. “When I moved in, we did a major overhaul,” Bahn says. They started by painting and redoing the hardwood floors on the main level. “The floors were the original herringbone design, and we refinished them in a dark coffee stain,” she says. “We loved it so much, we’re in the process of redoing them everywhere!”
Bahn’s personal favorite is the master suite. “You can see every part of the backyard from its windows,” she says. The spa-like bath with heated floors and a soaking tub and the room’s nearly 30-foot cathedral ceilings add to the overall grandeur of the private estate.
The home’s size and floor plan make it perfect for parties, and Bahn notes that a tremendous amount of consideration went into making the house a place for entertaining. “The HVAC system was designed to accommodate all the French doors in the great room being open, and because of the full-house generator, you can host a concert and not be worried about power,” she says.
