Best of … Creve Coeur

Creve Coeur began as one of many small communities that popped along the centuries-old route that is now Olive Boulevard. As St. Louis County continued to grow after World War II, the push westward led to its incorporation in 1949. The former farming community has developed into a wonderful community that is home to thriving restaurants and businesses, picturesque parks and more.

Named in honor of: Meaning “heartbreak” in French, the name comes from the legend that Creve Coeur Lake is linked to a Native American princess’ unrequited love for a French fur trapper.
