The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce St. Louis Foundation has partnered with the BJC Healthcare Family and Affinia Healthcare to launch Carryout for La Comunidad. This initiative maximizes donor support by serving two hard-hit communities at once. Carryout for La Comunidad provides economic relief for Hispanic Chamber of Commerce member restaurants by purchasing meals from them for distribution to health care workers and patient’s families in the BJC Hospital system and Affinia Healthcare. 

Opera Theatre of Saint Louis has cancelled its 2020 festival season. Ticket-holders can convert their tickets into a tax-deductible donation, a full or partial refund, or a credit to next year’s season. Likewise OTSL’s board of directors has reportedly committed $500,000 to match the dollar value of every ticket donation made through June 30.

Grand Center Arts District is a home for musicians, artists, creative entrepreneurs, venues, small businesses and nonprofits. The district champions the work of  60+ arts organizations and will continue to bring art to the public during this time of uncertainty. Many St. Louis artists and creative entrepreneurs depend on their work in the district to make a living. Click here for ways you can help and participate.

Stray Rescue of St. Louis is providing free dog and cat food for those who are struggling financially during this time. Email julia@strayrescue.org to schedule a pick-up time. Legal Services of Eastern Missouri remains dedicated to helping individuals and families during the COVID-19 crisis. Individuals who need assistance can call toll-free, 800.444.0514, from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. The online application for help is available anytime at lsem.org/get-help-now. LSEM is not able to accept walk-in requests for assistance at this time due to safety concerns.

Ameren is suspending disconnections for nonpayment and forgiving late payment fees for residential and business clients. Ameren customers who are having difficulty paying their bill can visit ameren.com to learn about payment options.

Invisible Hands is a nonprofit launched by Yale students. Volunteers deliver groceries and prescriptions to those in need. They also can request other help on the website, invisiblehandsdeliver.com.

Schlafly Beer is donating a majority of the proceeds from Oyster Stout 4-packs to the Gateway Resilience Fund, a new fund from the St. Louis Community Foundation that will provide short term monetary relief to employees and owners of independent bars, restaurants, and shops in the St. Louis area affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. schlafly.com
