Reduce Risk: AHM Insurance Group

Successful business owners and top executives have all the fun. They call the shots, they’re usually well paid for their efforts, and they get the best parking spots in the company garage. But with great rewards comes great responsibility and risks. AHM Insurance Group helps business owners, corporate leaders and top executives navigate those risks.

AHM, established in 1983, combines an experienced team of insurance professionals and a broad range of premium insurance products. “My colleagues and I work separately or as a team to protect our clients from every angle,” says personal risk management specialist Fonda Hereford. “Business owners, executives and other leaders have unique needs and a high risk of exposure. We help them understand potential risks, identify opportunities, create measurable value, and anticipate whatever changes might be along the horizon.”

A thorough risk evaluation now can help protect your assets in the future, Hereford notes. She starts by conducting an in-depth interview with the client or their financial adviser to determine their needs. “We can cover your homes, cars, collections and other possessions against theft, accidents and natural disasters; establish a worker’s compensation plan for your household employees; and protect you against identity theft and catastrophic personal lawsuits,” she says. “We make sure you have enough coverage to replace everything you own in a total-loss situation, with no out-of-pocket expense.”

Mimi Schmid, a long-term care (LTC), Medicare and disability planning specialist, helps individuals, couples and small groups tailor health care coverage to their specific needs. “LTC insurance is an essential part of estate planning today,” says Schmid, who often works with occupational specialties, such as surgeons and executives, and people planning for retirement. “About 10,000 people turn 65 every day. They’re living longer than ever before, and there’s a 70 percent chance they’ll need ongoing care in their home or a facility at some point. I represent the major LTC insurance carriers and plans, from traditional LTC coverage or one of the newer hybrid products. With the health care industry in constant motion, it’s important to have someone who can guide you through the risks and guard your assets.” Schmid also assists clients with individual/family medical coverage, Medicare transition and supplementation issues, and corporate disability insurance planning.

Laura De Luca is AHM’s life and disability insurance specialist. “I focus on individual life insurance, with an eye toward income replacement and estate planning needs, and on business life insurance and disability insurance, including key person and buy/sell issues for business succession planning,” she explains. “My goal is to make sure my clients have the coverage they need to protect their income and estate.”

Every client has needs, risks and goals, De Luca notes. “At AHM, we wrap you in a bubble of coverage to protect you, your family and your assets anywhere in the world—including the Internet. Our brokers can handle any group or individual risk-management need. You are unique. Your coverage should be, too.”
