The shop offers a variety of home decor, gifts and vintage-style merchandise. Its name was inspired by the building address, 7 N. Gore Ave., and the number of children the owners have among them.

Dau Furniture in Ellisville reached an impressive 125th anniversary this year, and the company held an open house to celebrate. Five generations have been involved since the business was founded by German-born carpenter Ferdinand Dau. Today, Cara Dau Allen is customer relations manager, and her brother, Ryan Dau, is operations manager.

Footwear and fashion retailer Claire Flowers has opened her first eponymous store on Carondelet Avenue in Clayton. She founded the company with a line of comfortable, durable women’s dress shoes of her own design and grew the business through online sales, pop-ups and private shopping events. Flowers is moving her warehouse from Earth City to Clayton.
