VP Crowns New Queen

The 134th annual Veiled Prophet Ball was held Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, where a new Queen of Love and Beauty was crowned and 59 young women were honored for their service to the community and made their formal entrance into society.

More than 2,000 friends and family members looked on as the Veiled Prophet crowned as his Queen Cecelia Ann Fox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey L. Fox of Clayton. Miss Fox is a sophomore at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. A dean’s list student, she is working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in management with a major in marketing, and has completed a marketing internship with SportPort International in St. Louis. She is fluent in Swedish and proficient in French.

The retiring queen is Miss Corinne Marie Condie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parker B. Condie Jr. of Creve Coeur. In addition, six Special Maids were honored: Miss Emily Lake Kang, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kang (Sharon); Miss Eve Edwards Mauze, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Francis Mauze Jr. (Elizabeth); Miss Colleen FitzGibbons Sliney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Dean Sliney (Bridget); Miss Natalie Anne DeWitt, daughter of Mr. William DeWitt III and Dr. Ira DeWitt; Miss Lindsey Marie Pollnow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Pollnow (Lisa); and Miss Dorothy McBride Ruwitch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael C. Ruwitch (Kay).
