The Endangered Wolf Center is doing its part to protect a species on the brink of extinction. In collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the organization flew four 9-day-old Mexican wolf pups to Arizona to be fostered into two wild packs. With about 300 Mexican wolves left in the wild, these four pups born at the Endangered Wolf Center represent vital new genetics needed for a critically endangered population.

The Saint Louis Zoo welcomed a male Grevy’s zebra foal, Prince. The foal is doing well and can be seen in the public Grevy’s zebra habitat at Red Rocks at the Zoo.


a fond farewell
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the career of cellist Alvin McCall. He played with the orchestra for 32 seasons, having joined in the 1994/95 season. “All the family of the SLSO is so very grateful for all that Alvin has done for our wonderful orchestra and the St. Louis community throughout his extraordinary career,” music director Stéphane Denève says. “He leaves a special legacy with our orchestra, and we wish him well in this next chapter of life.”


Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with the award-winning U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America. The band will present a series of patriotic concerts in the region.

A new book is celebrating the beauty of the Show-Me State. Created by environmental journalist Don Corrigan or landscape photographer Diana Linsley, Scenic Natural Wonders of Missouri: Lakes, Trails, Caverns and Vistas explores more than 80 sites of natural wonder and offers valuable insights on how to visit and enjoy each of them.

Sugarfire Smokehouse is partnering with St. Louis outfielder Jordan Walker. Running through the end of the 2026 baseball season, fans will get a chance to eat like a pro thanks to the J-Walk Plate, featuring Walker’s Sugarfire favorites. A portion of sales from all plates and merch sold will be donated to Walker’s Winners, the education advocacy foundation founded by Walker and his parents.


The StL is continuing to make its name as a world-class destination for spotting events. The region will build on its legacy as America’s first Olympic city by welcoming the Olympic flame in 2028 as part of the Los Angeles games. St. Louis will serve as the site of the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and host eight soccer matches at Energizer Park
