Saint Louis Fashion Fund announced the recipients of its Susan Sherman Fashion Scholarships at its annual “Fashion Futures Collegiate Kickoff” event. The $5,000 scholarships go to Missouri residents who are attending a Missouri college or university with an accredited fashion or fashion-related program. This year’s recipients are Constance Anthony, Maria Lynn Clark, Mia Rose Krieger, Mila Graf , Ellyanna Corcoran Maggiore and Svea Herstar Pierson. Congrats!
The Hawthorn is getting a new name! The downtown theater and event venue will transition to The Cassidy. “Rebranding to The Cassidy gives us the opportunity to better combine our successful live entertainment and private events programming which has served St. Louis since 2022,” says Mark Dinerstein, CEO of Marathon Live. “We feel the name better reflects the versatility of the facility as a one-stop entertainment and events destination.”
Don’t miss OxFest musical festival in Washington, Missouri, on Sept. 19! Along with live performances from 14 bands, the event features vendors, food and drink, cooking demos and a kids zone. The Pulitzer Arts Foundation will welcome a new exhibit exploring fiber arts. Weaving the Infinite features the works of Colombian artist Olga de Amaral. The exhibition includes 86 works of art, including monumental fiber works, furnishings and clothing from Amaral’s design studio, and textiles and ceramics from her personal collection. Weaving the Infinite opens on Sept. 10.
This spring The Rep will be bringing a world premiere to St. Louis. Its children’s theater initiative, Imaginary Theatre Company, will present My Friend The Dragon, with book by Lize Lewy and music by Bryn McLaughlin. Inspired by Kenneth Grahame’s beloved short story The Reluctant Dragon, this new musical follows a young curious and compassionate booklover who befriends a misunderstood, fire‑breathing dragon. My Friend The Dragon will tour Feb. 22–April 3 in select schools, community centers and libraries across the region.
