Congrats to Ursuline Academy senior Haley Stelzer-Monahan, who completed Students and Teachers as Research Scientists (STARS), a six-week intensive college-level science research program that pairs students with scientists. As a STARS graduate, the Florissant teen will receive a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a funded summer research opportunity. (Pictured, above)

St . Louis County Library’s Summer Free Lunch Program has received a Top Innovator award from the Urban Libraries Council. The program, launched last year with Operation Food Search, delivers free lunches five days a week during the summer months to children ages 2 to 18 at library branches in underserved areas.

Wells Fargo Advisors awarded STAGES St. Louis a $12,500 grant to support its Urban Arts Initiative (UAI ) program. The funds will allow students to participate in summer workshops and attend STAGES ’ production of Annie, Jr. next spring.

Two local Scout leaders have earned the highest volunteer recognition from the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Kimberly Fleming and Salvatore Ferranto, both of Chesterfield, received the Silver Beaver Award, given to only 24 volunteers from a pool of more than 12,000
