Is it better to give or receive? Well, St. Louisans don’t have to worry about the answer to that philosophical quandary thanks to the Glennon Card. Every fall, the program gives the community the opportunity to shop local, support kids in need and save money. By purchasing a $70 card, you unlock a 20% discount at more than 340 local shops, restaurants and other service providers. All proceeds from card sales directly support the young patients and families at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

The Glennon Card initiative is co-led by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon and the Glennon Guild, a women’s auxiliary with more than 100 members. One of the program’s presenting sponsors is the Soucy family. Susan Soucy has been a member of the Glennon Guild since 2005, and her family’ s connection to the children’s hospital goes even deeper. “In 1988, my husband, Scott, and I spent six weeks in SSM Health Cardinal Glennon with our newborn daughter,” she notes. “We are so grateful for the care she received, and the hospital will always have a special place in our hearts.”

Soucy was president of the Glennon Guild when the idea for Glennon Card was developed. She’s proud to see how the program has grown since it launched in 2011 and has continued to support SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. “With the construction of the new hospital, this year seemed like the perfect opportunity to sponsor the Glennon Card and the Devoted Campaign,” she says. “SSM Health Cardinal Glennon has been a vital part of pediatric care in St. Louis for 70 years, and seeing the new hospital come to fruition is a beautiful testament to the commitment of providing exceptional healthcare to all children.”

For 2026, the Glennon Card’s co-presenting sponsors are Dana and Tim Bacich. Dana became involved with the Glennon Guild in 2020. She saw it as an amazing opportunity to donate her time to a worthy cause. She’s excited to be able to give back to the hospital and uplift its patients. “The Glennon Guild has always impressed me with its enthusiasm for fundraising and finding ways to help these children and families during difficult times,” she notes. “Sponsoring the Glennon Card is a contribution to the guild’s initiative for the year, helping fund the new SSM Health Cardinal Glennon.”
