You need to look no further than the numerous hit TV shows centered around home renovations to realize there is an undeniable appeal to transforming your home into something new. While it is exciting to take the plunge and tackle a large-scale remodeling project, the reality is that such an undertaking is often much more challenging than expected. Anne Marie Design Studio is dedicated to making homeowner’s dreams come true. From kitchens to bathrooms and everything in between, the award-winning company tackles large-scale renovation projects from the ground up.
President and designer Anne Marie Boedges has been an industry leader for more than 20 years, and she launched Anne Marie Design Studio 13 years ago. The company uses the design-build method, which means it provides both construction and design services. This way, homeowners avoid the hassle of juggling multiple contractors and a separate design team. The business is set up to provide convenient turnkey service, from initial planning and design to construction and finishing. “From the first sketches to the finishing touches, our team works with you every step of the way,” Boedges notes. “We’re proud to handle every aspect of a project for our clients.”
Starting a remodeling project can be a daunting prospect, but Anne Marie Design Studio works hard to offer its clients peace of mind during the transition. The company uses technology to ensure the process is even smoother. While Boedges does sketch every design by hand, she employs an innovative computer program to allow clients to experience a three-dimensional version of the rendering via virtual reality headsets. “Sometimes, it can be difficult to visualize something based on a drawing,” she says. “This allows clients to walk through the space virtually and really understand the design. You get to see the before-and-after before the project has even started.”
One homeowner learned the benefit of Anne Marie Design Studio’s approach first-hand. The family loved the warmth and square footage of their kitchen, but they wanted to bring new life to the dated Tuscan design. Boedges’ solution was to keep the earthy colors and wood tones while creating a space that felt timeless. She also added functionality by creating two separate islands. “It keeps messes separate—one can be used for mingling or homework, while the other can be used for cooking,” she notes. “The homeowners have young children and entertain often. It was important to keep the space warm and inviting but also functional.”
The centerpiece of the kitchen is the refrigerator. The homeowner wanted to celebrate their heritage and culture by adding a unique pop of color. Boedges took that idea and created a one-of-kind statement piece by transforming the refrigerator into a peacock blue mirrored armoire. “It’s not a cookie-cutter or traditional approach to kitchen design,” she says. “The space takes beautiful elements and blends them to create something more intentional and personal. My team strives to create homes that feel like they reflect their owners. We’re thrilled that families trust us to transform their home into a place where they want to stay forever.”
