st. joseph’s academy | The school’s annual Sparkle of Love volleyball game raised more than $11,000. The event benefits the Nora’s Sparkle of Love Project, a nonprofit supporting families in the fight against childhood brain cancers, and The Side-Out Foundation, an organization helping people living with metastatic breast cancer. The St. Joe’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams sold T-shirts before the game, and during the game, additional funds were raised through sparkle stations, raffle baskets, 50/50 drawings and more.
robinson elementary school
Students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month through food and hands-on learning as part of Chartwells K12’s Global Eats program. The initiative introduces unique ingredients and flavors from around the world. As part of their culinary journey, students sampled elotes (Mexican street corn), spiced mango, sofrito (Puerto Rican brown rice), mangu (mashed plantains), pico de gallo and arroz con frijoles negros (rice and black beans).
rosati-kain academy
The school is honoring a major milestone of an alumna. Audrey (née Mullen) Mehan, a grad from the class of 1944, recently celebrated her 100th birthday. “For more than 80 years, Audrey has embodied the values that define a Rosati-Kain education, including faith, compassion, servant leadership and sisterhood,” Rosati-Kain president Stephanie Boyd says. “Her story reminds our students that the lessons learned here don’t end at graduation. They become part of who they are, inspiring them to lead with courage, serve with humility and make a lasting difference in their families and communities.”
ladue horton watkins high school
The school recently hosted its sixth annual Ladue Night Lights. The event is a unified football game for students with disabilities and their families, celebrating inclusion and district pride. All students with a disability and their siblings choose how they want to participate, including band, cheer, dance or football, and are paired with a high school student in their selected area. The game also is a fundraiser for Best Buddies International.
