Aging is an issue that touches everyone. By 2030, one in five Americans will be over the age of 65. For more than 165 years, EverTrue has served older adults throughout the St. Louis region and beyond. The organization is the eleventh largest nonprofit provider of aging services in the country. It offers a full spectrum of care to make sure seniors can live life on their own terms.

In St. Louis, the nonprofit is best known for its Life Plan Communities, which offer a full continuum of care. Along with providing world-class communities, EverTrue also helps seniors age in place, if that is their goal, through its Anywhere Care program. As a nonprofit, it stands out in the senior living sector, where many communities and services are private and for-profit. “We serve a population that can often be overlooked,” vice president of advancement Jackie Hamilton says. “So much philanthropic work is focused on the younger generations. We want to ensure that seniors are not forgotten. They offer so much to the community through their experience, knowledge and expertise.”

EverTrue is dedicated to providing all St. Louis seniors with access to quality aging services. “We ensure they have the security, help and hope they need to feel empowered,” Hamilton notes. The nonprofit’s Affordable Housing communities provide residents with wellness resources, social opportunities and countless activities. The EverTrue Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (EverTrue PACE) provides holistic support for the physical, emotional and social well-being of older adults, either in their home or at the EverTrue PACE Center. The Good Neighbor initiative provides financial assistance for older adults needing home-based, non-medical care and private-duty services. Other community initiatives include memory care support, healthy food access, caregiver support and more.

EverTrue relies on the support of the community to make its services accessible to all older adults, including its affordable housing options for seniors living on limited income. The organization partners with both individuals and corporations to make its mission possible. “Community support is extremely important—we can’t do everything on our own,” Hamilton says. “Donor support strengthens housing opportunities, coordinated care and essential support programs that help older adults live confidently and with dignity. Community philanthropy helps ensure that financial circumstances aren’t the determining factor in whether someone receives support.”

EverTrue’s largest fundraiser is its Ageless Gala. This year’s event is Sept. 12 at Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. The theme, “Lights. Camera. Access.,” reflects the nonprofit’s dedication to ensuring that every older adult can access housing, health care, support and opportunities to thrive. Guests can look forward to an evening of classic Hollywood glamour while supporting seniors. “The gala brings together businesses, community leaders, families, volunteers and advocates around a shared commitment to older adults,” Hamilton says. “Every ticket, sponsorship and donation helps create opportunities for seniors to remain independent, connected and engaged. Supporting EverTrue is an investment in the well-being of current and future generations of older adults throughout the St. Louis region.”
