Any last-minute moms like me out there? I wanted to do a quick spotlight on fun exploring you can do around town. I love the idea of freebird summers with impromptu adventures. And although it’s not always possible with work schedules, if you get an open day with your kids, I want you to be fully prepared to embrace it!

Note: This is certainly not even close to a comprehensive list of all of the amazing spots our city has to offer, but I think these are pretty cool.

Farm Life
Farm School at Sharingwood Farmstead
I can’t say enough about this best-kept secret in Wentzville. Owner Allison and her family have set up the most adorable little spot for kids to just be kids and live the slow-pace life on a small farm. She hosts farm school sessions where kids can go weekly to throw axes, run through creeks, feed the animals, milk cows, learn about bees, track a compass through the woods and more. They also host farm days where you can pay a small fee to let your kids be wild and free. She has the coolest kids who are eager to show new friends around.

Take It To New Heights
Climb So iLL Gravity Lab
This place! You may have heard of the amazing Climb So iLL gym downtown, but have you been to their second location in old town St. Charles? They opened a space called the Gravity Lab that is truly what kid dreams are made of. It’s an epic climbing course recommended for ages 4 and up. I am itching to take my kids! You can rent it for birthday parties or bigger groups, so check out the website for details.

All Around Fun
Brookdale Farms
I’ve only heard about Brookdale Farms for weddings, but head to the website, and you will see it’s full of adventure beyond private parties. They have endless activities available for families all summer, including mazes, hayrides, inflatables, and what reviews have said to be the most fun float trip (you need to make reservations for that). Its events page lists an upcoming car show, balloon glow and a rodeo! The farm also is hosting various summer camp sessions that still have availability.

New to STL
Drive-In St. Louis
I can’t believe I haven’t been to the new Drive-In St. Louis yet. They opened in May of 2020 during the pandemic to provide a safe place for families to get out. Now, a year later, they have a seriously cool line-up of live music and movies to enjoy with your family. This is a great new business to support. Visit its website to see what’s playing.

If you feel behind on summer plans, hopefully this helps spark your adventures!
