coffee connoisseurs
qb_coffee-shutterstock_101874229-copyTwo execs at homegrown Ronnoco Coffee have been named Specialized Instructors by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. Kudos to Dan Janson and Dan Pabst, who are now among a select group of about 100 in the world. The pair most recently launched a Black Ice coffee program at Ronnoco that includes cold brew, iced coffee and nitrogen-infused coffee. Ronocco produces coffee under five labels: Seattle Roast, Camellia, Wild Horse Creek, Henderson and Ronocco.

Nourish Market & Cafe in Warson Woods now offers family-friendly meals via subscription. Owned by Hollyberry Catering, the cafe creates healthy entrees and sides that serve four and come flash-frozen. Owner Holly Cunningham first started catering in 2001 and then opened Nourish in 2015. She has since expanded her storefront into the adjacent space and added the new meal subscription service.

tasty thai
You have to taste it to believe it. That’s the scoop on Thai ice cream, now served at the new Snow Factory in the U. City Loop. Opened by college student Van Liu in the former Cheeseology spot, the place specializes in the frozen treat, made to order on a cold board. Ingredients are poured onto the surface, mixed until freezing and spread into a thin layer. This gets rolled up and inserted into a special ‘Hong Kong egg waffle cone’ with folds and pockets perfect for melting ice cream and oozing toppings. Mmm …

cardinal-sin-copystl ‘best of’s’
We know how great our food scene is, and now the world is catching on! USA Today recently named St. Louis Distillery of St. Charles the best craft vodka distillery in the U.S. Pretty impressive! The local company creates Cardinal Sin Vodka, made with two-row malted barley, and Cardinal Sin Starka, a type of traditional Polish, barrel-aged vodka dating to the 15th century. Kudos to distillers Greg Deters, Steve Herberholt and Bill Schroer. Also honored were Pinckney Bend Distillery in New Haven, Missouri (No. 4), Mastermind Vodka in Pontoon Beach, Illinois (No. 7), and Square One Brewery and Distillery in Lafayette Square (nomination).

Local frozen custard emporium Ted Drewes has been named the best ice cream in the world (!) by #worldICECREAMindex. The yummy spot makes us proud again, as all frozen treat afficionados salute the U.S., St. Louis and Ted Drewes on this honor. Also proud: loyal fans who voted for them to snag the sweet distinction.
