Congratulations are in order for Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery. It took home two 2019 sofi Awards, winning silver for its Gooey Butter Cake ice cream and bronze for its Salted Crack Caramel flavor. The winners were selected via a blind tasting process. The micro-creamery has another reason to celebrate as well! It opened its third location in the South Hampton neighborhood at 4715 Macklind Ave.

Eric ‘E’ Heckman, owner of Tani Sushi Bistro in Clayton, has a new venture that’s food for the ears. “You, Me and E” is a monthly podcast and online content series that highlights the relationship between great meals and great conversations. The first episode featured notable guests Doug Pitt, Donn Sorenson and Orlando Pace sharing a meal and discussing everything from philanthropy to Doug’s brother, movie star Brad Pitt.

Last month, Sugarfire Smoke House opened a new location at 2323 Plum St. in Edwardsville, expanding its barbecue empire to an impressive 13 restaurants. But if you can’t make it to any of the storefronts, you now can pop in the nearest Schnucks to get your Sugarfire fix. The two hometown favorites have partnered to bring a variety of the smokehouse’s meats and sides to the stores’ deli and prepared food sections. Offerings include beef brisket, mac and cheese, ribs, pulled pork and baked beans.

I Love Juice Bar now is offering the Hempnotic shot, a blend of pineapple and jalapeño juices, cayenne pepper and CBD oil. The fruity, spicy mix offers the benefits of the cannabinoid compound, which include pain relief and reduced anxiety. The juice bar’s location in Ladue recently welcomed Darlene Bry as the new general manager.

The culinary minds behind Polite Society have opened The Bellwether in the City Hospital Power Plant at 1419 Carroll St. Thomas Futrell is executive chef, and Travis Hebrank is behind the bar as beverage director. … Bernie Lee, chef-owner behind the recently closed Hiro Asian Kitchen, has opened Akar at 7641 Wydown Blvd. in Clayton. The menu is inspired by Malaysian cuisine and is vegan and gluten-free friendly. … AO&Co., the latest venture from Ben Poremba, is now open at 1641 Tower Grove Ave. The boutique market and cafe features a carefully curated selection of wine and spirits, food, cigars and fresh flowers. … After three years of helping St. Louisans eat healthier, Fred and Ricky’s has closed both its Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights locations. The vegan graband-go company also has stopped selling products in grocery stores in the metro.
