Having a ‘ruff’ week? Look for the Animal Protective Association (APA) Cuddle Crew, hitting the streets this month to bring puppies and kittens to various locations for Pop-Up Playdates (pictured at top). The idea is to help St. Louisans de-stress while raising awareness for pet adoptions.

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward’s youngest daughter, Clea Newman (pictured at right with Ginny Busch), was in town to attend a reception for Wild Earth Allies, a Maryland nonprofit she chairs. It partners with our local Endangered Wolf Center and other groups to preserve biodiversity. Guests, including August Busch III and family, met a variety of animals, and Wild Earth unveiled an initiative called The Wild Fund to support species conservation.
The holidays are approaching, so it’s prime time to think about stress prevention! Local psychologist and educator Dr. Diane Sanford has published a new book, Stress Less, Live Better: 5 Simple Steps to Ease Anxiety, Worry and Self-Criticism, which offers sage advice on how to improve health by lessening stress levels. Interior designer and volunteer Anne Stupp has signed on as a board member of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. She lives in Arizona but has deep St. Louis roots, having served on the boards of Tower Grove Park and other local nonprofits—and her late husband, Robert, led the Stupp Bros. construction firm. St. Louis has two Wright-designed homes, the Russell and Ruth Kraus House and Theodore Pappas House.

Help fight hunger at the Operation Food Search Empty Bowls fundraiser Nov. 17 and 18. Held at Plaza Frontenac’s Center Court, the event features pottery bowls for sale, handmade by local artists. It helps raise awareness of homelessness and hunger in the community.
