The Saint Louis Art Museum is now the permanent home of Charles I, a Kehinde Wiley painting that was part of the artist’s recent exhibit here. The portrait, formally purchased by the museum, was inspired by a 17th-century painting of England’s King Charles I by Daniel Martensz Mytens the Elder. Wiley’s official rendering of President Barack Obama is on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
