The 133rd Annual Veiled Prophet (V.P.) Ball was held Friday, December 22nd at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, where a new “Queen of Love and Beauty” was crowned and 62 young women were honored for their service to the community and made their formal entrance into society.
More than 2,000 friends and family members looked on as the Veiled Prophet crowned as his Queen, Corinne Marie Condie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parker B. Condie, Jr. of Creve Coeur, MO. Miss Condie graduated with Honors from John Burroughs School. She is currently a sophomore at Brown University majoring in Health and Human Biology. She is a member of the Brown University varsity field hockey team.
The retiring queen is Miss Eliza Dooley Johnson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Johnson III.
In addition, six Special Maids were also honored: Miss Kathryn Danforth Barnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles. L. Barnes (Laura); Miss Mary Bridgewater Condie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Condie (Elizabeth); Miss Alice Condie Christopher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence G. Christopher (Alice); Miss Lillian Grace Thiemann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David J. Thiemann (Laurie); Miss Meredith Carol Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey W. Wright (Laurie) and Miss Katherine McKittrick Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven T. Johnston (Bonnie).
