The 132nd Annual Veiled Prophet Ball was held Dec. 22 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, where a new ‘Queen of Love and Beauty’ was crowned and 63 young women were honored for their service to the community and made their formal entrance into society.

More than 2,000 friends and family members looked on as the Veiled Prophet crowned as his Queen, Miss Eliza Dooley Johnson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Johnson III.

Miss Johnson graduated with Honors from John Burroughs School and is a National Merit Scholar. She is currently a sophomore at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, majoring in medicine, health, and society with a concentration in health and behavioral sciences and minoring in neuroscience and psychology.

The retiring queen is Miss Charlotte Capen Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meredith C. Jones III.

In addition, six Special Maids were also honored: Miss Jody Calhoun Jones, daughter Stephen and Jody Jones; Miss Carolyn St. John Danforth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Danforth III; Miss Cameron Isabelle Niemann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Richard Niemann; Miss Mary Eva Patterson Carnal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jean-Jacques L. Carnal; Miss Lindsey Elise Baur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew S. Baur and Miss Maria Hawes Brennan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Brennan, Jr.
