Operation Food Search, the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state region, is collaborating with several local businesses and organizations to provide free food and household essentials to families in Ferguson and surrounding areas.

Recently, more than 200 people gathered in a team-building effort to benefit Circle of Concern Food Pantry and bring awareness to FISH Feeds, Fish Window Cleaning’s nationwide charitable efforts.

St. Louis Arc welcomed card sharks to its annual Showdown for the St. Louis Arc, a Texas Hold ’Em Poker Tournament at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac Hotel. One hundred and sixty players betted and bluffed their way through the evening, enjoying appetizers, a silent auction and friendly competition at the poker tables. Close to $28,000 was raised for St. Louis Arc programs.

MERS Goodwill took a step to go green by partnering with St. Louis-based Microgrid Solar, which installed a solar panel at its St. Peter’s location. Over the course of its lifetime, this single solar panel will save MERS Goodwill $100,000.

More than 235 mothers and daughters participated in a field day led by Dr. Tim an d Anne Jordan to kick off an other year of volunteering for NCL. Members are well on their way to meeting this year’s goal of 10,000 hours volunteered on behalf of the community.

Knights of Columbus Council 11139–Ascension Parish raised $22,800 to benefit Friends of Kids With Cancer at its 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Chesterfield.

Support Dogs received a $5,000 gift from PetSmart through its PetSmart Gives Back initiative, which supports organizations across the country that enrich lives through the power of pets.

A local club from St. Louis Bridge Center raised $13,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association by participating in a marathon bridge game event called ‘The Longest Day.’
