good brews | It’s not too late to participate in Schlafly Beer’s Cans for Cans food drive. Through Nov. 30, St. Louisans can donate two cans of non-perishable goods at Schlafly brewpubs to receive a can of beer. All food donations will go to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

Congratulations to the Saint Louis Zoo! Its WildCare Institute was awarded the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums conservation award for the Center for Avian Health in the Galápagos Islands. The center studies the unique bird populations of the islands to protect them from extinction.
Talented teens won’t want to miss their chance to perform on stage at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. Registration for the 13th annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition is open until Jan. 2 at foxpacf.org. The competition is open to students in grades nine through 12, and the winner will receive $8,000 toward a college scholarship.
