The Alberici Foundation, a charitable arm of Alberici Constructors, made a $500,000 donation to support the needs of staff at BJC HealthCare, SSM Health and Mercy hospitals in the St. Louis area. The funds will assist front-line employees responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
St. Louis-based Spectrum Brands is altering production at its Blacksburg, Virginia, plant to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. The facility is switching from making Cutter insect repellent to producing Cutter hand sanitizer for its own staff and local organizations in communities where it operates, including the StL metro. St. Louis Area Foodbank will be among the first to receive a donation of sanitizer for its employees and facilities, and the product will be available to consumers soon. The Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, the area’s largest public funder of the arts, has joined with the St. Louis Community Foundation to launch a $100,000 emergency artist relief fund to address critical needs for local artists impacted by the pandemic. RAC plans to also solicit contributions from others in the community who recognize the need to support our local artists. The fund allows applicants to submit a one-time request of either $500 or $1,000. Artists are invited to review eligibility criteria and apply online here. The organization will use a simple, expedited process to administer funds with applications considered and awarded until April 30 or a complete depletion of funds.
