» There will be a fourth printing of Painting Missouri: The Counties en Plein Air by Billyo O’Donnell and Karen Glines, a book that features seven years of research, painting and writing. The entire art collection represented on its pages will be on display at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild in Clayton during the month of August. O’Donnell set out to paint outdoor scenes on location in each of the state’s 114 counties, plus the city of St. Louis. The images capture intimate and well-known spots, like the Lover’s Leap in Hannibal and the view of St. Louis from the rooftop of the Cathedral Basilica. The artwork is paired with Karen Glines’ historical information about each county and notes from O’Donnell’s creative experiences.
