Both schools earned the Promising Practice distinction, which is awarded to institutions with unique, effective and replicable programs that strengthen and sustain a comprehensive culture of character.

saint john vianney high school
The school’s junior class visited El Salvador as part of a Service, Justice and Peace immersion and service project. Students served local communities through outreach efforts centered on helping families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. The experience had a profound impact, teaching them about solidarity, compassion and service firsthand.

kirkwood high school
The high school’s Girls’ Ultimate Frisbee club secured victory at the Missouri State Ultimate Frisbee competition, held at the SIUE Glen-Ed West Soccer Complex. During the two-day torment, the team demonstrated strong teamwork, athleticism and determination, earning the state title.

north glendale elementary school
Students in the school’s Changemaker Club led a school-wide fundraising initiative, collecting more than $4,000 to support local nonprofits. The “Penny War” encouraged students to raise funds themselves rather than asking parents to donate. The Changemaker Club selected five local nonprofit organizations to support: Kinwell Senior Living, TASK, Duo Dogs, Angels’ Arms and KirkCare. Each organization received a donation of $817, along with handwritten thank you notes from students.

rosati-kain academy
Community members got a sweet treat when Maya Warren, Ph.D., gave the keynote address at the school’s Alumnae Weekend. A 2003 Rosati-Kain grad, Warren earned international fame after winning The Amazing Race and turning her passion for chemistry into a remarkable career as the Ice Cream Scientist. “Going to Rosati-Kain allowed me to fall in love with chemistry and experience how fun science can be,” Warren says. “It allowed me to be a leader and find my voice. I got my go-getter attitude from my teachers at Rosati, and they made sure I did not shy away from who I am.”

The school celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated middle school space. The event featured a special blessing of the space by Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, a ceremonial ribbon cutting and an opportunity for guests to explore the new learning environment. The event also highlighted student talent, spotlighting student Carolina V. (’30), whose artwork will be transformed into a stained-glass insert for the Chapel door.
