Shoulder Season: A Novel by Christina Clancy | This is a story of a 19-year-old girl who must grow up too fast due to her parents’ deaths. She sets out to become a Playboy bunny at a resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She also falls in love with a man who she thinks is out of her league. The book moves at a quick pace, and I must admit that I was a bit unprepared for the ending.
The Marriage by K.L Slater
Could you marry the man who killed your son? More importantly, why would you? This psychological thriller explores just that. There are so many twists and turns you will find yourself rereading pages just to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Even though it’s a weird one, it’s certainly enjoyable.
The Next Wife by Kaira Rouda
A good man is hard to find. Or is he? This book takes you on a tale of two women that both have an agenda—you just don’t realize what it is until you are well into the story. It was hard to put down, and I was grateful my Kindle let me keep reading well into the night.
Malibu Rising : A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Set in 1983, four siblings, who have basically raised themselves, throw an annual party that launches each of them in different directions. Their neglectful, yet famous father shows up, which adds to the drama, but the focus on the interactions between the siblings feels authentic and keeps the book moving. A fun read.
