Members of professional cycling teams Alto Velo andĀ LA Sweat met with students to talk about health, fitnessĀ and, of course, the sport of bicycling! The cyclists wereĀ in town to compete in the Gateway Cup race. DanĀ Holloway of Alto Velo went on to win the cup.

Fourteen students from Brentwood Ursuline ConventĀ High School in Essex, England, recently visitedĀ Ursulineās St. Louis campus. The UrsulineLinksĀ program connects students and sisters from theĀ two countries for various service projects. A freshmanĀ theology class hosted āTea and Theology,ā whereĀ students from both schools discussed the sharedĀ history of each, as well as what differentiates theĀ two locations. The British group stayed with hostĀ families and visited local attractions, including, ofĀ course, Ted Drewes!

Students enjoyed spending time with 11 exchangeĀ students and the principal from a partner school,Ā Alpha and Omega Evangelical School in Denia, Spain.Ā The Spanish students, who stayed with host families,Ā followed the Westminster class schedule.

Students in the Kirkwood School District got to meetĀ brothers Pacifique Niyonsenga and Tresor Kwizera ofĀ Rwanda, known around the world for their musicalĀ performances and message of peace and unity. TheĀ two have been featured on CNN and this was theirĀ first time in America. Pacifique is a genocide survivorĀ who helped his mom and baby brother Tresor surviveĀ his countryās genocidal war. The two young men teachĀ Kinyarwandan dance and drumming and spread aĀ positive message.

Three local students scored a perfect 36 on the ACTĀ exam: Parkway South High School senior DerekĀ Berndt and Westminster Christian Academy seniorsĀ Joey Albertson and Rebecca Liu. Less than one-tenthĀ of 1 percent of U.S. students taking the test in theĀ U.S. earn a perfect score.
